Reigns in Parenting : Alisa Ellis
I would love to speak about taking back the reigns in parenting. Parents need to be empowered to create a family environment where everyone can thrive. We need to stop looking to outside experts and realize the power within. As we partner with God, we can be the experts our kids need.
Alisa Ellis and her husband have lived in the beautiful Heber valley for the last 14 years with their 7 children. Alisa is technically a high school drop out because she skipped her senior year of high school and began attending BYU at barely 17. She graduated from BYU with a BS in Family Science with an emphasis in Human Development. She values alternative/individual education plans because of this important decision in her life. Alisa has been an activist in education for the last 5 years. She has traveled the state speaking about education policy. She also served on the state of Utah’s science review committee. Alisa sometimes get asked what qualifies me to speak about education policy. Her answer is always emphatically, “Because I’m a mom to 7 kids who cares about their education.” Alisa believes it is her responsibility to raise, educate and guide her children. She is active in the community, active in her faith and recently served as a Service Project Leader for BYU’s Women’s Conference. Alisa is currently a candidate for State School Board in UT.
