Necessary Skills, Multiple Paths and Family Honor. If you have just started homeschooling but you are worried that your kids won’t be able to get into college, or if you are a veteran homeschooler but have youth that you want to start planning for a few years down the road, this is the class for you. The skills university studies really require, multiple paths to get into colleges and universities, scholarship paranoia, and family honor will all be discussed from the vantage point of 15+ years of homeschooling youth.
Homeschooling mom of 7, Cyndi started homeschooling 25 years ago, when it wasn’t quite so fashionable. She has successfully launched 6 of her 7 children to the world of university studies. They have earned 5 degrees, including BYU Law, so far. She helped found Polar Star Academy, a commonwealth school, in 2001 and it continues to serve youth in the Weber and Davis County areas of Utah. She has directed Shakespearean plays for 15 years and loves the magic of seeing youth transform as they do hard things. She is a big believer in extreme volunteerism and has seen the payback in her own family.
