THE SUN ALWAYS RISES: FIVE WAYS TO MAKE EDUCATION A POWERFUL LIGHT IN A DARK TIME : Chris Jones
Christopher Jones (alias Mr. C) has for several years taught classes on history, civics, speech and logic both on- and off-line as part of the growing private/homeschool movement. He is currently on the faculty of Lumen Scholar Institute as a teacher of US History and World Civilizations. He teaches his own classes as well, from Shakespeare to Defense Against the Dark Arts (yes, really). A sought-after speaker on education and politics, he also has a long career in music and theater, having been on stage since age six, and sings opera with a traveling troupe. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, and has conducted community choirs for the last eight years. In what’s left of the week, Mr. C raises money for liberty-based research and publications as Director of Development for the Libertas Institute.
Background: Mr. C graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Classics (Roman History) and minors in English and History. Prior to joining the productive sector of the economy, he was a campaign manager and public relations specialist for several congressional campaigns and National Field Director for the Alan Keyes presidential campaign in 2000. A prolific writer, Mr. C has published dozens of articles in several newspapers and magazines, and his book Mastering the Six Channels of Marketing was an Amazon top 25 book in Advertising. He writes short stories and novels under the pen name of Cj Lehi. Mr. C resides in Lehi, UT with his wife Jeanette, their eight children, two cats, and a stray hummingbird.
