When I lost my job, I felt as if my dreams of being some big boss with a corner office, private jet and private bathroom (I don't know why that was on my list) were slipping through my fingers.
What I had been promised was I needed to go to school, get a good job, and I'd be fine. But that was in the 1900's. This is a new time, and "job" and "career" mean different things.
I started my own business, wrote a book, got paid thousands of dollars to speak for an hour, wrote another book, dabbled in this, tried that, and eventually became converted to a concept that smart professionals have been talking about for many years: multiple streams of income.
Entrepreneurship was once odd, but it's become quite cool nowadays.
So what does all of this have to do with you, chicken poop and money? If you haven't figured it out by reading this, you better come to my session.
Jason Alba has been involved with homeschooling for about 13 years. He has five kids with his wife, Kaisie. Jason recently mentored the Shakespeare Conquest class with Kaisie and loved the opportunity to be with his students for the year. He recently decided to mentor an online class he designed called the Video Game Design and Entrepreneur Class (www.VideoGameClass.com). He has students ranging in age from 7 to 63 from all over the U.S. (and some in Scotland). Jason has three published books and works at home on various projects. His main project is www.JibberJobber.com, which is a website to help job seekers organize and track their job search and networking. Jason has spoken professionally around the U.S. and once did an all-day presentation in Turkey, which means he's an international speaker. He is an "author" (which means video presenter) for Pluralsight, and has over ten courses on job search and career-related topics there. Jason frequently blogs on various blogs including www.JasonAlba.com and www.51Alternatives.com (his third book). He lives in Herriman, is 41, and balding. Jason grew his once-in-a-lifetime beard to portray Wicked King Jason at the Mastering Knighthood Summit last summer, where he successfully scared a bunch of little kids. But, that was all an act.
